Youth Arts Learning Journeys: Arts Mentorship

Dumfries and Galloway Arts Partnership* invite applications from arts organisations or freelance arts practitioners to act as mentor partners with local youth organisations or named individual young people, to explore best practice in the arts at national and international level. This opportunity is designed to create youth learning journeys with mentors whose anticipated outcomes will lead to the development of youth arts practice across Dumfries and Galloway. It is anticipated that successful commissions will contribute to a youth arts conference to be held in the region later this year.

This commission opportunity invites artists / arts organisations across media to help develop youth arts interest, by engaging with national / international arts organisations/ partners, to inspire development of new, peer led youth arts practice in the region. This may include visits to national or international venues/ organisations, and to lead to demonstrations with or about national/ international partnership as part of youth conference later year. Importantly overall, the experience must aim to inform growth in the Dumfries and Galloway youth arts sector.

Four opportunities are available and it is intended that partnership projects be appointed ideally from and with responsibility for each of the D+G areas (Annandale and Eskdale, Nithsdale, Stewartry and Wigtownshire).

Information for Applicants
